The Brief
This handbook was created for employees of Trade Promotion Organisations (TPOs) and business organisations in APEC economies including business chambers, networks and councils. This handbook explores the specific barriers faced by women traders and provides tools that will enable TPOs and business groups to assist women-led businesses to identify and access international markets, export opportunities, build market recognition and manage risk.
The process
Data are given: Photos that are taken from mobile phones, logos and Microsoft words.
Methodology Design thinking:
Core activities are inspiration, ideation, and implementation, which occur across the five stages of the process:
- Empathise: Understand the reader and women who owned businesses. What do Australian leaders and professional businesses want to know about women in business? How to make the handbook cover interesting for Business leaders to grab from desks? How to make the inside of the handbook easy to read and understand and uncluttered. How to create an easy-to-understand infographic.
- Define: Define the problem and align it with business goals and readers. The main objective is for supporting women in business to export import and access the global market. Show them what's possible using business cases, supporting export readiness, legal requirements, and be a guidebook for ethical business. Sample from National graphic magazine models, Forbes and Time were explored to create similar looks and feel which are already familiar to educated Australian leaders.
- Ideate: Generate a range of ideas for possible designs, emphasizing creativity. 2 covers were introduced for this project.
